  • Ripple Partners With Meritz Securities on Institutional Custody and Tokenization in Korea

Ripple Partners With Meritz Securities on Institutional Custody and Tokenization in Korea

October 14, 2026 | Bitcoin AI Update Institutional Crypto Desk

Ripple and South Korea’s Meritz Securities announced a partnership focused on institutional digital-asset custody and tokenization in Korea’s capital markets. Ripple listed the partnership among its October 14 press releases, positioning it as part of its broader effort to provide blockchain infrastructure for traditional financial institutions.

    What has been announced?

Ripple’s press-centre listing confirms the partnership announcement and its stated focus on institutional custody and tokenization. The precise rollout timetable, supported assets, operating entities, and customer availability should be confirmed from the full official announcement and any subsequent Meritz disclosure before drawing conclusions about products currently available to clients.

    Why custody and tokenization matter

Institutional custody concerns how financial firms safeguard and administer digital assets, including access controls, operational processes and regulatory obligations. Tokenization represents a financial asset as a digital record on a ledger. Used together, these capabilities can form part of the infrastructure required to connect regulated financial markets with blockchain-based settlement and asset servicing.

    What to watch next

    • Implementation: Look for official details on launch timing, eligible clients, and supported assets.
    • Regulatory status: Verify which legal entities provide custody and under what permissions.
    • Real adoption: Announcements alone do not establish client numbers, transaction value or revenue. Evidence of live production use will matter.

  • Ripple and Privy Bring Embedded Wallets to XRP Ledger as AI Payments Grow

Ripple and Privy Bring Embedded Wallets to XRP Ledger as AI Payments Grow

October 14, 2026 | AI & Crypto | By Bitcoin AI Update Desk

Ripple and Privy, the wallet-infrastructure company owned by Stripe, are bringing embedded wallet support to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The integration is designed to help fintech apps and developers create and manage XRPL wallets inside their products, including for payments using XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and other assets on the network.

The partnership arrives as developers explore “agentic commerce”: software and AI agents that can pay for data, computing and online services automatically. The infrastructure is a step toward making those payments easier to build, but it does not by itself prove that large-scale AI-driven economic demand has arrived.

    What the Ripple–Privy integration does

According to Privy’s announcement on October 13, developers will be able to create and manage XRP Ledger wallets programmatically, sign transactions through Privy’s infrastructure, and integrate XRP, RLUSD and other XRPL assets into applications. The aim is to avoid building the entire wallet stack from scratch or requiring every end user to operate separate wallet software.

Embedded wallets can make the user experience simpler. A payments app, for example, could offer dollar-linked transfers without asking customers to manage private keys directly. Server-side wallets can also let a software agent hold funds and pay for a small online service when a request is approved.

RippleX senior vice president Markus Infanger said Privy’s wallet infrastructure can help developers bring the XRP Ledger into real products, including payments and stablecoin experiences.

Read Privy’s official announcement for the integration details and developer capabilities.

Why AI-agent payments are getting attention

An AI agent may need to purchase API access, data or computing resources while completing a task. An internet-native payment flow such as x402 can allow a service to request payment and release the resource after the payment is verified, without requiring a person to complete a checkout for every request. The XRP Ledger integration could give developers another way to build these flows using XRP or RLUSD.

The development is an infrastructure announcement, not a guarantee that specific consumer apps or AI services will see widespread use. Builders still need to manage funding, permissions, transaction policies, security and recovery. Privy says it plans to expand the integration over time, including policy controls and fee-sponsorship capabilities.

What the 14-million transaction figure means—and does not mean

The XRPL AI Hub dashboard showed more than 14.3 million cumulative indexed transactions and 169 registered merchants when checked on October 14. Its live dashboard also displayed roughly 6,991 XRP and 12,805 RLUSD in cumulative settlement amounts. Those figures can change as the dashboard updates.

These measures should be read carefully. A large count can include many very small payments, and it is not the same as 14 million people, 14 million separate businesses or millions of dollars in transaction value. The dashboard is an ecosystem index, not by itself an independent audit of all agent activity on the XRP Ledger. The value moved and the quality of the activity matter alongside the transaction count.

That distinction is important for investors assessing whether AI-agent payments could become a meaningful source of demand for XRP or RLUSD. The integration provides a way for developers to build; adoption, payment volume and recurring users will determine how much economic activity follows.

Wallet funding and security still matter

Privy’s documentation notes that an XRPL account needs an initial XRP reserve before it can transact. As a result, an embedded wallet intended to send only RLUSD may still require XRP to activate the account. Apps will also need transparent recovery options, well-designed transaction permissions and clear user consent when automated software can spend funds.

Anyone experimenting with crypto-enabled AI tools should be wary of fake integrations and unsolicited requests for seed phrases. Use official developer documentation, review permissions carefully and never reveal a wallet recovery phrase to a bot, agent or support account.

    What to watch next

The next signals are whether developers ship real applications, whether policy and fee controls arrive as promised, and whether dashboard activity is accompanied by rising value settled and repeat usage. For now, the Ripple–Privy partnership expands the tools available to developers; it is too early to treat the headline transaction count alone as proof of mass-market adoption.
